Hello, I'm Debbie—the heart and hands behind Starr Mountain Apothecary & Tower Gardens.

For over 30 years, I've turned to the healing power of herbs, teas, tinctures, and natural remedies to care for my family’s health. What began as a passion rooted in my home has grown into a full-time calling—one that brings me joy, challenge, and purpose every day. My journey into crafting herbal skin care actually started quite serendipitously: one Christmas, I swapped my usual baked sweet treats for homemade herbal creams and salves. The response was overwhelming—and I never looked back.

Today, I handcraft everything from decadent, nutrient-rich skin care to medicinal vinegars, ferments, bone broth, and tinctures—all with a deep focus on gut health and whole-body healing. I believe radiant wellness begins in the gut and is nurtured through nature’s wisdom. Whether I’m blending a healing tea or creating a deeply hydrating face cream, I use only the highest-quality organic ingredients, always with intention and care.

My home apothecary sits in the heart of East Tennessee, surrounded by seven consignment shops that carry select products from my line. I love variety—it keeps me inspired—and I cherish the rhythm of seasonal creation. In the winter, I grow my herbs and greens in aeroponic Tower Gardens, and in the warmer months, I harvest under the sun. These herbs are freeze-dried at peak potency and infused into healing oils for both culinary and topical use.

I believe nature knows best. That’s why every item I make is crafted to be nourishing, clean, and free from harsh chemicals—packaged sustainably in reusable glass jars and biodegradable materials whenever possible.
